May Goals
Since I left April a bit light with regards to goals, I don’t think there’s need to do separate posts for their review and setting up my May to-do list.
Since I left April a bit light with regards to goals, I don’t think there’s need to do separate posts for their review and setting up my May to-do list.
Let’s get April out of the way first. I had two official goals down for April. The first was to write every day. Did I accomplish this? Well, nearly. I missed one day. And that was at the end of the month so I was consistent for the first 28 days. My second goal was to take some time to enjoy life. Which is how I came to miss that one day; I was enjoying a family get-together in Las Vegas. Yes, there was alcohol involved.
And now to May.
- Write every day.
Yes, the old standby is back for another month. As I think I said before, it will stay on the goal list until I’m consistently getting it right.
- Make sure I have all my hand-written bits and pieces typed up and saved.
I discovered at some point last month that I’d somehow or other got rid of the most recent Word docs for a couple of short stories. Fortunately, I was able to find my original hand-written drafts but it was a good reminder that I need to be more careful about having things saved & backed-up.
- Catch up on my reading & write some book reviews.
It took my almost all of last month to get through the one book. Not because I didn’t enjoy it, I just wasn’t devoting the time to it that I should have been. One the plus side, I’ve already taken some steps to remedy this, having read another book already. I’ve got the review planned for later this week. And I should be able to get at least one more review done before the end of the month.
- Get another interview in the bag.
I should probably get onto this one soon, rather than leave it until the end of the month and then start scrambling.
- Post another short story.
If nothing else, it keeps me writing. Maybe even amuses some of you into the bargain.
- Try and spend some more time interacting with other writers online.
I haven’t been that great about this lately. With time constraints, this has had a tendency to be pushed aside.
- Plan accordingly.
Hopefully, that will help me accomplish these.
I think that’s probably enough to be going on with for now.
