The other day I posted the following on Twitter:

Due to a combination of travel (international man of mystery that I am), settling back into work and just general idleness, I’ve been neglecting things. So, as far as my writing is concerned, 2019 starts now.

I’m trying to think of January as a fresh start with a lot of things, some writing related, some more personal. As such, I’ve been trying to come up with goals that either reflect that or will help set me up for success down the road (see my goals for the year).

  • Get back to a consistent blogging schedule.

Ideally, I’d like to be doing 3 posts per week. Granted this then means I need to find subjects to fill said posts but if I can be a bit more proactive about writing them ahead of time (my previous form has been to write them on the day of) and maybe line up some extra interest items then I have a chance at maintaining that schedule. Or I could just get creative.

  • Get back to writing everyday.

I thought about trying to make a daily word target but I’ve done that before and it often leaves me feeling like I’ve failed. I may set myself a monthly target in future but I think for now I’ll settle for just writing something daily.

  • Get myself organized.

This is the one I’m still working out how to tackle best. I’ll be trying a few options until I find what works for me.

I think that should do for the next few weeks.
